And so my quilting journey for healing begins. This first quilt is designed based on the pre-cut batik fabric that I brought with me from home. I’m using a Brilliant Blue layer cake by Island Batik. I’ve matched up light and dark values. I drew a diagonal line across the square, and stitched a quarter inch on either side to create HSTs. I’ll cut each triangle on the drawn line to create two HSTs.
Directions 4 Participants:
Using a black sharpie write a message to the migrating birds above us as they journey between Alaska and South America. Your message can be words, a song, a symbol, or a drawing. You should sign your HST however you choose. Photos of each participant will be the border around the quilt.
