Algonquin, First Nations Toisnot Skaru:re Contentnea Creek Homeland, Florida Seminole, and Georgetown, SC Creole Geechee with connections to Treme Creole Culture from The Quarters in New Orleans. A Southeastern Woodlands Indigenous Knowledge Keeper, creator of natural colors from plants, flowers, nuts & insects, machine & hand stitching, hand embroidery, Pow Wow dancer, working traveler, writer, bundle binder, storyteller, multi-generational cloth dyer working as a teaching artist and small business consultant.
Academically trained fine arts artist with a passion for creating color and a love for mark-making, currently dancing my way to health in New Orleans. My art practice explores sacred places along the coast of the Carolinas, blood memory, and indigenous ways of knowing passed down through stories while creating textiles.
